JS Bach - Inventions BWV 772-786

JS Bach - Inventions BWV 772-786
Arranged for flutes by Carla Rees

Bach’s two-part Inventions are charming miniatures which were originally written as educational material for Bach’s piano students. In these arrangements, the articulations are intended merely as suggestions and the performers are free to make their own interpretative choices. The contrapuntal nature of the music is such that the parts share equal importance, but players must take care with balance to ensure that held notes are not allowed to dominate over the moving lines. Alternative notes are given to accommodate a low B footjoint on the alto and bass flute where available.
